It is unique number which is allotted to an individual by Ministry of Company Affairs for becoming director of a company.

Following documents are required:-

  1. Coloured Photo
  2. Address Proof
  3. Identity Proof
  4. Date of Birth Proof
  5. Copy of Passport for foreign nationals

For becoming a director minimum is 18 years.

For becoming a director there is no maximum age. However for becoming Managing director maximum age is 70 years.

A private limited company need to have at least 2 directors, a public limited company need to have at least 3 directors and a one person company need to have at least 1 director. All the above types of company can have maximum of 15 directors. They can appoint more directors by passing board resolution.

  • Executive Director- He is the person who is responsible for running day to day operations of the company.
  • Non-executive Director- He is also known as Independent Director. He is responsible for policy making and attends only board meeting. He is not responsible for day to day operations of the company.
  • Additional Director- He is the person who is appointed as director till next Annual general meeting. If his term is not confirmed in next AGM; he is removed from his directorship.
